potrdili, da so bili o tem obveščeni. krapež se je rodil leta 1958 na otlici. po zaključeni srednji šoli je diplomiral na fakulteti za strojništvo, kasneje pa je opravil še magisterij iz menedžmenta. obrambni minister je postal marca 1997 v vladi janeza drnovška, in sicer iz kvote demokratske stranke slovenije ds , ki jo je takrat vodil tone peršak . krapež je na položaju nasledil tita turnška , ki je odstopil zaradi afere zavrč z vohunskim kombijem, ki so ga zasegli hrvati. krapeža je nato na ministrski funkciji nasledil franci demšar . leta 1998 pa je tudi krapež odstopil, potem ko so v javnost prišle informacije, da naj bi si nezakonito dodelil vojaško stanovanje. leta 2000 je bil kandidat ds na parlamentarnih volitvah, leta 2004 pa na volitvah v evropski parlament. leta 2008 je bil kandidat socialnih demokratov na parlamentarnih volitvah. zanimivo je, da je zaradi stanovanja bila proti krapežu vložena obtožnice, vendar je primer zastaral. zaradi tega je bil uvedena preiskava o delu sodnice biserke matjan križaj , je leta 2003 poročal portal 24ur.com. glavno obravnavo je omenjena sodnica preložila kar sedemkrat; dvakrat se je opravičilo tožilstvo, štirikrat eden izmed soobtoženih, ki naj bi imel poškodovano koleno, in enkrat nekdanji minister krapež, ki je bil zaposlen z volilno kampanjo. predsednica ljubljanskega okrajnega sodišča tadeja zima je omenjeni sodnici takrat poslala odločbo, da nameravajo preveriti njeno delo v zadnjih treh letih, med drugim tudi koliko primerov ji je v tem času zastaralo. krapež, ki je sedaj zaposlen na prometnem ministrstvu, je
